About Me

I am a visual journalist based in Minneapolis with a love for visual storytelling. I most recently interned as a multimedia journalist at the Des Moines Register. I grew up in St. Louis, Missouri where I first learned to love storytelling and journalism before photography. I have always been susceptible to falling into books and losing track of the world around me until I finish that story. Now I naturally look for those stories while photographing or photo editing.

I graduated in May from the University of Missouri School of Journalism with a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism with an emphasis in photojournalism and documentary. I have worked as a staff photographer, photo editor, assistant director of photography, and a designer at the Columbia Missourian newspaper where I have covered general assignments, led sports feature projects and led visual stories part of the homelessness beat.

While I have taken on many different jobs, I enjoy my work the most when I get to guide and collaborate with others. I think a big part of visual journalism is a conversation with colleagues, subjects, and our audience. With my experience in various leadership roles with the photo department and as a designer I am adept to making sense of complex stories and being creative with what I can find and what I am given.
