When the overturning of Roe v. Wade was announced I sent photographer Margo Wagner to the state capitol to capture reactions of supporters and protesters there. Later that day I sent photographers Jia Wu and Margo Wagner to a local rally protesting the decision. I updated the visual coverage throughout the day then photo-edited the day's photos into a cohesive long-form web presentation with a story written by Missourian Staff to showcase Mid-Missourians' reactions.

The day after a wildfire burned through a small town I worked on continued visual coverage led by assistant director of photography Megan Matty. Together we kept in contact with photographers, updated the visuals online, planned for the days ahead and put together an edit of coverage from multiple photographers covering the devastation of the fire, the impact on the people there and the beginning efforts to rebuild and clean up.
I worked with photo editor Elizabeth Underwood and Nicole Gutierrez to edit photos taken around Columbia of Missouri Primary Election watch parties. The visual coverage was led by assistant director of photography Nicole Gutierrez. We worked together to get visuals online as soon as possible and to create a cohesive longform web presentation of the reactions of many different watch parties in the area.
Photographer Margo Wagner went with reporter Evan Lasseter to Silex, Mo. to photograph a rural veterinarian. I worked with Margo to use photos from a day-in-the-life of a rural vet to localize and personalize a story of a bigger problem of large animal veterinarian shortages in the state.

This story wasn't immediately visual as it summarized public comments from several hearings about the use of ARPA funds. As a solution for visuals, under the direction of assistant director of photography Emmalee Reed, I read through the story and searched our archive for photos that represented certain ideas and people in the story.
This event involved several different sports at various times and locations. I coordinated coverage with photographers Margo Wagner and Jia Wu went to different games throughout the day. I then photo edited their takes individually, including both feature and action photos, before editing their combined coverage into a longform presentation showcasing a day of the Show-Me State Games.
